Okay… go grab your supplies and let’s start creating!
Getting started
So you have booked the holiday and now you need to start planning. Start by making a note of all the different things you want to include on your spread. This could be destination, travel time, to do list, packing list, to buy, to pay etc. Decide on what you want to include then use a pencil to sketch out the layout you like. You can use my layout for inspiration.
Theme
I’m going on holiday this year and we will be visiting the beach. I’ve decided to go with a beach theme for this spread. You can see the different beach themed doodles such as palm trees and the sun. I've also chosen colours that are bright and reflect the beach vibe. If you are going on holiday during winter, you might want to use cooler colours and include doodles like hot chocolate, hat and scarf etc.
Departure times
I have included two spaces for the departure times eg leaving and arriving. This will help when planning what time you need to be at the airport/station or getting in the car ready to start your road trip. You can tailor this to suit your choice of travel. You could also include the time zones if you are changing zones.
To pay
There are always so many different things that need paying for when booking a holiday like flights, insurance, hotel etc. I’ve decided to include a pay box to keep on track of expenses and when they have been paid. This also allows me to see how much I have spent in total on the holiday… which might be a scare ahah!
Destination
I’ve added a fun box to put where the holiday is. If you decide to create a journal for your holidays, you can look back at these spreads as memories and to help see what you did last time.
To do list
Of course a to-do list is needed. You could change this for a packing list, or include both. If you choose a to-do list, write down everything you need to do before the holiday such as buy clothes, call the hotel, get out passports etc. This list will be helpful to keep in track of the little jobs that need doing before the big day.
Food planning
Okay… firstly please ignore my spelling mistake (restaurant!) aha. Now if you alphabet all inclusive, ignore this spread! You don’t need it. If not, you will need to plan out what you will be eating. I have used a simple grid to lay out the days and the meals. I have also included a section for restaurants that will be near. This will help you keep organised and plan what food you will need to buy.
Well now you are ready for your holiday! Get planned and enjoy :)
