Inspiration For Fall Doodles To Include In Your Bullet Journal

by Design Team 05 Jul 2021 1 comment

Hello everyone! Erin Floto of @erinflotodesigns (on all social media) here to get you in the fall mood. Fall is my absolute favorite time of the year. I love the crisp air, the changing leaves (which I actually get to experience now that I don’t live in Florida), the hot chocolate, candy for Halloween, and starting to get into that cozy and relaxing mood. So today I’ll be sharing a process video doodling fall items, showing some inspiration for your own bullet journals, and including a printable full of doodles!

Recommended Bullet Journaling Supplies:

  • Archer and Olive Notebook
  • Hard tip brush pen or regular black pen and pencil
  • Colorful markers, Acrylographs, or paints if you want them!
  • Creativity!

You can use my affiliate link and code on Archer and Olive’s website for a 10% discount. The code is EFD10.

What Do You Associate With Fall?

I mean, do I even have to say it? Pumpkins. Lots and lots of pumpkins! Pumpkin spice lattes, pumpkin-flavored food in every single Trader Joe’s aisle, pumpkin picking activities, and pumpkin carving. So of course a lot of the doodles associated with fall have to do with pumpkins and gourds of all kinds. Same with apples because it is a big apple picking season and the general harvest season. I also love any hot drink like hot chocolate or hot apple cider during the fall time because of the cooler air. Falling and changing leaf colors is also a big staple of the season. And the color palette. Oh my goodness I love those deep jewel tones. They resonate with me so much!

Halloween Inspiration

The other big part of fall, at least in the northern hemisphere, is Halloween! I love the holiday because I get to dress up my dogs and eat candy. Literally, is there anything better in life? It is also about spooky things but that is honestly secondary to dog costumes and candy for me. But if we are doodling spooky items, I think about spiders and webs, jack-o-lanterns, witches, and ghosts of course.

Process Video

Doodling isn’t easy but I hope this process video can give you some inspiration and tips! One of the things I definitely encourage is sketching out with a pencil and searching around for sources of inspiration! I also like to draw in a messy style (especially if I have had too much caffeine like today!) so shaky lines and odd line thicknesses look like they belong!

And here's the FREE printable of fall doodles to get you started:
