Three Easy Spreads to Set Up Your Bullet Journal

by Adrienne Castleton 13 Mar 2020 0 Comments

Hi friends, Adrienne from @studio80design here to share three easy spreads you can create to set up your bullet journal! I’ve been loving my Archer and Olive A5 Kraft Paper Notebook and I’ve decided to use it for my next bullet journal! The best thing about Archer and Olive notebooks are they are completely blank, so you can really customize them and make them your own!

Spread 1: Key Page

At the front of your notebook, creating your key page is a great way to set up your bullet journal and keep you organized. You can create an index to keep track of your pages, write down the code to your activities, decide on a color system for who the activities are for and show how your tasks will be tracked. This way you’ll be able to keep all your calendars and task lists uniform and in sync!

When I set up my bullet journal I like to add in my own page numbers at the bottom of each page so I can add them to the index on my key page after they’re done!

Spread 2: Monthly Cover Page

At the beginning of each month, create a cover page! You can make these as artsy as you want them to be and it sets up the “theme” for your pages throughout the month. For my March spreads I’m going to use a black and white color theme, which really pops on the Kraft paper!

Spread 3: Monthly Calendar

The last spread you’ll need to set up you’ll bullet journal is a monthly calendar spread. These usually take up two pages so you can write out all your activities for the month and see at a glance what you’ve got going on. I’m sticking to a black and white theme, using Tombow MONO Drawing Pens and a white gel pen for these pages.

Once you’ve got these three spreads in your bullet journal, you can go onto add habit trackers, weekly calendar pages, inspiration pages, and much more! Use your imagination to make it your own space!
