Sunflower Habit Tracker Tutorial

by Adrienne Castleton 10 Jun 2019 0 Comments

Hello friends, Adrienne from Studio 80 Design here today to share a tutorial on how to create a sunflower habit tracker in your dot grid notebook! I absolutely love creating habit trackers, they are so handy when you want to see progress you've made! Let's get started!

Materials you'll need:

Step 1

The first step is to use your pencil to sketch the design on your page. I wrote "habit tracker" at the top of the page and then used my Helix 360 Degree Angle and Circle Maker to draw three circles for the sunflower. Then I drew lines every ten degrees in the outside circle to use for a guide to draw the petals.

Step 2

Next, I lightly drew the petals on the sunflower with my pencil. If you want to track your progress by the month, then draw one petal for every day. I drew thirty petals on my sunflower, so I could track my progress for June!

Step 3

Now it's time to start inking in the sunflower! Use the Zebra Zensations Technical Drawing Pen 0.2 to draw the center of the sunflower. I drew small circles in the second circle and almost completely filled in the center circle using circular motions.

Step 4

Draw in the petals of the sunflower using the Zebra Zensations Technical Drawing Pen 0.4. The trick to drawing a flower with multiple petals is to draw each petal just a little different so they all don't look the same. This will help make your flower look more life-like!

Step 5

Draw in tiny petal details using the Zebra 0.2 Pen. I like to use both lines and stippling to do this, it helps keep the lines soft.

Step 6

Write in the numbers on your petals so you can keep track of the days. Then write in "habit tracker" at the top with the Tombow Fudenosuke Soft Tip Brush Pen. Last, erase any extra pencil marks with the Tombow MONO Eraser!
