Simple Bullet Journal Cover Page Idea | Bullet Journal Theme Idea

by Design Team 28 Oct 2021 1 comment

Hello again!! (and possibly for the last time in a long time friends 😅) It's Nabaa here from @whimsical.doodles with one last blog post for you all before I officially say goodbye to the Design Team! *cue bittersweet tears* 😂

It has been a ride y'all and I've loved every single second of being on this incredible team!! Okay before we get too mushy on here, let's get to today's post!

Over the past couple of years of being on the Design Team, I've had the amazing opportunity to create tutorials for so many of my own bullet journal themes and spread ideas. A lot of these have revolved around painting, doodling and more! Check out some of my favourite theme ideas here:

So for my final blog post, I thought I would do something totally different and show you how to create a monthly cover page that is super beginner friendly and a great way to jazz up your journal without creating elaborate artistic spreads.

Note: Some of the links in this post are affiliate links - this means if you go through them to make a purchase, I might earn a small comission at no cost to you!

Here's everything you'll need:

I LOVE using patterned cardstock/scrapbook paper in my journal and that they are available in such a variety of different colours, patterns, and themes, you can find something for every season.

Let's get started!

Step 1

Find paper you like! Here are some fun ones I was able to find online! INSERT LINKS. Once you have your paper picked out, gather the other supplies you need.

Step 2

Cut down your paper to a size that fits in your journal. For my own A5 size, I left a border of 4 rows at the top and bottom and 3 columns on either sides of my patterned paper. Glue it on.

Step 3

I used a strip of kraft paper to write in the month! I used the Archer & Olive white Acrylograph but you can use any white gel pen.

Step 4

And finally, bonus step but totally optional! Add some sparkle ✨I use the metallic gold Acrylograph to go over some of the artwork on the pattern paper for that final pop factor!

Here's a quick look at how I created a simple and easy cover page for my bullet journal in under 10 minutes!

Remember that you can use just about any sort of decorative paper for this setup! Here is a great holiday themed paper sets to check out if you're looking for ideas for December 👀 I hope you try this set up in your own journal and remember to tag @archerandolive and @whimsical.doodles on Instagram if you’d like to share your work! 💛
