How To Create an About Me Page In Your Bullet Journal
Masha here from Masha Plans and today we are creating a fun little About Me spread, so come join me and let’s bullet journal together!
An “About Me spread” is a very fun way to do a self-reflection and to preserve your memories. It’s really interesting to look back and see who you were and how much you've changed ever since.
So I hope this will be fun for you as well, and maybe you’ll also get into systematically creating About Me pages! Now, let’s get our supplies and start planning!
Supplies To Use For A Bullet Journal About Page
Notebook - For me, as always, it’s a B5 notebook by Archer and Olive. I just can’t express enough how much I love the extra space it provides and of course the quality of the paper.
Pencil - You know me, I love things to be as close to perfect as possible, and using pencil first is the key to a better spread. My choice is a Pilot Dr. Grip mechanical pencil.
Fineliners - In my opinion, the basis of each Bullet Journal spread. This time I used Sakura Micron 01
Colored Pens and Markers - everything to bring cheerful colors to your pages! I went crazy with my Pilot collection - Frixion Markers and Poplol colored gel pens.
Getting Prepared
As always, I start from a little preparation. I write down some ideas on what I would like to include in the spread.
To make it easier for you, here are some ideas I came up with:
- Things you like/dislike
- Things that make you happy
- Dream travel destinations
- Favorite food, music, books
- Hobbies
- What’s in your bag
- Random facts
- Dreams and aspirations
- Personality traits
Sketching The Spread
Now comes the planning part. I use a pencil and sketch out the spread. I do it in a lot of detail and sketch even the text, to make sure I like how it’s all located and it looks proper on the page.
I like to start from the center of the page where I write my title and then just work around it.
As you can see, I didn’t include all of my ideas. But it was nice knowing that if I had some empty space, I wouldn’t need to panic because more ideas are there.
As I always do, I added text and doodles, but you can actually skip the doodle part if you don’t feel comfortable with it. Just use different colors and different styles of font and create a text carpet around your title.
Add Black Pen
The next step is to add black lined with my fineliner.
This time I wanted a bit more color, so I left in pencil some elements and text, to use later some colored pens instead. I erased them, but not completely so when it’s time for a colored pen I'd still know where the lines are.
Add Color
The final step -and the most fun!- one is to add color to your spread.
Note how the words in color pop! It’s a great trick to attract more attention to a specific word. Use this trick for headers of the most important facts you want people to notice first.
