How To Create A Fun Bingo Spread In Your Journal

by Ambassador Team 04 Feb 2024 0 Comments

We often use our journals to focus on keeping organised but do you want to have more creative fun with your bullet journal while still being productive?  Perhaps you want to focus on some self care next month or maybe try a new way to set achievable goals.

Hello, it’s Alex (@TheJournalCorner) from the Archer and Olive ambassador team.  Today we are going to look at how to create a bingo page in your journal.  These can be used for many purposes and are a really fun page to both create and fill in.

This blog post will take you through how to make bingo pages in both A5 and B5 journals using different styles so hopefully you can find one that suits you.

Remember you can also find a video of my steps at the end of this page if you prefer to watch.  I have also created a printable bingo page to help save you time when creating this type of page.

Supplies needed

Blue journal with daisies closed and surrounded by pens and accessories

All you really need in an Archer & Olive journal, ruler and pen.  My examples below are both in A5 and B5 sized journals. As we are looking at journaling for creative fun, it’s a good excuse to also use other items we may have too.

I am going to use the calliograph brush pens and paper from the pastel and kraft notepads.  You could always add some simple decoration too and Archer and Olive have some lovely themed washi and stickers.

To-Do List Bingo Page

Some weeks or months the monotony of certain task can seem pretty unrelenting.  Creating a bingo page in your journal can help you make some progress with these chores.  First make a list of all the chores you need to achieve in a week or for a certain month.

I have created this page for housework in an A5 journal and used small squares as there are quite a few tasks to be added.  On this page I could fit 5 squares across and 5 down, so 25 tasks in total.  As they are small squares, the writing pens from Archer and Olive work well to add the tasks.

I used the broad brush end of a calliograph to create the bright title to keep it fun.  I also added some stickers and washi tape to the page as a quick way to add decoration.

Every time I fully complete one task I can shade it in using a fun colour from my calliograph collection.  The everyday pastel calligraphs are great for this as act as highlighters so you can still see the writing below.

Self Care Bingo Page

One of the ways I have used these type of pages before is creating a self-care bingo page.  This could be for a month to help make more time for yourself, or perhaps as a way to celebrate around mothers day.  Of course self-care is different to everyone so you may want to make a list of ideas personal to you first.

For this bingo page I am using a B5 size journal.  The larger size allows me to better use a pastel notepad from Archer & Olive.  I measured out space for 20 squares and then cut the notepad paper to fit using a variety of colours and these scissors.

Once positioned correctly I stuck them down and then added my title using the calliograph pen broad end again.  I then added my self-care ideas and each time I manage to make time for one I can cross it off.

Goal Setting Bingo

Setting goals is not just for the start of a new year.  You may want to try listing some to aim for each month or even week too.  To make it a bit more fun, why not try this goal setting bingo page using kraft paper.

To make it a bit more achievable, I have reduced the number of squares to 12 for this bingo page. I chose to use kraft paper squares so once these were cut from the notepad I stuck them into the journal leaving space for a title.

I added goals using a black pen, that would be achievable for me but without a strict value.  It was more about being consistent and creating better habits in this example.

Adding washi tape and stickers from Archer and Olive filled any blank space and added a decorative touch too.

You could use this layout over a longer time period to track weight loss, step count or even follower count on social media.
