Holiday Bullet Journal Spread

by Liz Gray 13 Nov 2019 1 comment

Hi friends, it's Liz from @thegraytergood here with *gasp* a COLORED bullet journal spread idea for y'all! I've finally felt inspired to use a little bit more than black and white in my journal, and what better time to add a pop of red than the Christmas season? As someone whose love language is gift giving, this is one of my favorite times of the year. This fun gift tracker spread will help you keep track of what you need to pick up for your loved ones.

An open bullet journal with the words "Gift List" at the top, with two female hands resting on the pages and holding a pen.

WHAT YOU'L NEED:

  • Your Archer + Olive Dot Grid Notebook (I have the A5 size)
  • Assorted Crayola Super Tips (I have the 100 pack!)
  • Gel Pens + Glaze Pens from Sakura of America
  • A pencil and eraser
  • Optional: a ruler for quick and easy straight lines

Use your pencil to start sketching in the title for this spread. I chose to put the word "Gift" on a tag, and to wind the "List" around and make it look like different pieces of ribbon.

Outline everything in a gel pen and let it dry, then use your eraser to get rid of all the pencil marks. I colored the front and back of the ribbon in two different shades of red with the Crayola Super Tips to differentiate them, but it all ended up looking a little darker than I intended, so I added white highlights with my gelly roll pen.

You can organize the bottom half however you choose depending on how many folks you'll be buying gifts for, but I chose to have a family and a friends column, with one box to check for if I've purchased the gift.

I don't know about y'all, but one of my favorite things is to put on some Christmas movies, make some peppermint tea, and have a few hours to myself to just enjoy wrapping gifts. I hope y'all enjoyed this little tutorial, and be sure to tag me on Instagram @thgraytergood if you recreate this spread!

Thank you SO much for including the WHOLE process of trying and erasing and trying again in the video.
Everyone always makes it seem so easy. I tend to forget that that probably practiced before making the video and then I get discouraged.
