Goal Setting Bullet Journal Layout

by Adrienne Castleton 25 Dec 2019 0 Comments

Hello friends, Adrienne from @studio80design here to share my last tutorial for 2019--a goal setting layout for your bullet journal! The new year is just around the corner, are you ready?! I love using the new year as a way to re-focus and think about what I want to accomplish in the up-coming year. Which is why I like to be as specific as possible when it comes to writing down my goals. I'm dividing up my goals to four different areas of my life. Read on to find out what those areas are! **Side note--this goal setting layout isn't only for the new year, you can use this layout whenever you want to start new goals!

Materials you'll need:

Step 1

The first thing I always do is sketch everything out in pencil! I wrote "Goals" at the top of my page and then four symmetrical rectangles in the body of the page with my pencil and ruler.

Step 2

The next step is to ink in the "Goals" header at the top of the page. I used the Tombow Fudenosuke Hard Tip Brush Pen to write it in. Then I used the Tombow MONO Drawing Pen 01 to outline the word to add some detail!

Step 3

Now it's time to add some color! I pulled out my rainbow set of Gelly Roll pens to stipple in the rainbow as a background. I had eight colors to work with, so I divided my page into eight sections. Start with red at the top and stipple in the top eighth of the page. You can keep it thin or thick by adding more or less dots--it's up to you! Make sure to stipple around the "Goals" header!

Step 4

Continue stippling all the way down your page, working your way through your colors! You don't need to have the full rainbow of pens to do this, use whatever colors you have! After I filled in the page, making sure to avoid the rectangles that were penciled in, I went back to add more stippling so the colors were vibrant! Then I used the Fudenosuke Brush Pen to write in my four areas for my goals--Personal, Mental, Physical, and Professional. I find it important to use these different areas to make sure I'm not focusing my attention too much in one area. I want to make sure I am working on improving on all areas of my life. Don't feel overwhelmed--these goals can be small. One of the biggest mistakes when making new goals is biting off more than you can chew! So make them small and personal. Writing them down helps keep you accountable and remind you what you are working towards!
