Bullet Journal: Decorating Your Weeklies

by Nabaa Afridi 25 Mar 2020 0 Comments

Hello again! It's Nabaa from @whimsical.doodles! For this post, let me just start by saying I hope you're all safe and healthy! It's a crazy time out there and so I've turned to the one thing that helps me stay calm - my bullet journal!

If like me, you find yourself stuck at home while the world deals with the ongoing pandemic, now is the perfect time to focus your energy into your journal and other hobbies that you enjoy.

I'm taking this time to try and plan for the upcoming few weeks. So today's post is going to be all about Weeklies! Specifically how to decorate the space around your weekly layouts!

There are quite a few ways to add some background decoration to your weekly spreads. Check out some of the following spreads for inspiration!

1. Solid Background

A super-easy way to add a little background decor is painting the entire background in a single solid color. You can then add small doodles or designs if you like! In the example below, I added in little gold stars:

2. Decorative Header

Using a decorative header is a great way to add elements of your overall theme to your weekly layout. There are several ways of doing this such as using a divider! Here, I've used a strip of washi tape to separate my header.

3. Decorated Border

This is a particularly practical way to add some color to your weekly. Depending on how much space you need, you can add thin or thick borders to your pages!

4. Patterned Background

One of my favorite ways to decorate my weeklies has been the patterned method. You section out your weekly layout in pencil and then draw on your pattern - avoiding the sectioned spaces. Here are a few examples of this:

If you have any other ideas for a weekly background, please let me know in the comments! I love working with new layouts and I'm always open to new ideas and inspiration!

I hope this has helped you figure out your next weekly. I'm going to be spending the rest of this time at home working on more ideas for you guys! IF there's anything in particular you'd like to see on here, let me know! - Nabaa
